VPNs are designed to give you extra privacy online and they offer another layer of protection when sending sensitive information to websites and services. But most also unblock video streaming services such as Netflix, as well as other videos not available where you are.
They also secure your Wi-Fi connection when you’re using open public wireless networks in cafes, airports and hotels.
Below you’ll find deals from Ivacy, Surfshark and other top-rated services. NordVPN is one of the best VPN services, and though it’s more expensive than rivals if you’re looking for the absolute cheapest price, its deal is still a good one.
The discounts, in case you’re wondering, are taken off the normal monthly price. But although presented as a monthly price, you pay the full amount for the entire subscription up front. That’s not as bad as it may seem because those monthly prices are so low with these great deals.
A couple of the deals here are for lifetime subscriptions. This means that single payment is all you’ll ever pay: you can then use the service forever.
- RRP: Usually $10.99 per month, now $2.05 price per month when buying 2-year deal
- Buy from Atlas VPN
Atlas VPN is a highly secure freemium VPN service that strives to make safe and open internet accessible for everyone. It joined Nord Security in 2021, itself a leader in digital security and privacy.

Price shouldn’t be your only consideration of course, but if you only want to unblock video and websites, you don’t have to think much beyond the cost. Just ensure the service has servers where you want to unblock stuff and pick a service from those below.
Best VPN deals
1. FastestVPN Lifetime plan
Now: $20 (97% off)
Unlike most VPN deals which are subscriptions for a set number of years, FastestVPN’s is for a lifetime subscription. This is exactly what it sounds like: you pay once and have access to the VPN service for as long as you live.
And for just $20 – around £15 – that’s unbeatable.
Plus, you’ll get a year’s cloud storage thrown in – 2TB with Internxt – and a password manager.
FastestVPN isn’t the absolute best VPN service around: it’s not the fastest and has far fewer locations and servers than most. But it says it unblocks Netflix, iPlayer, Disney+, Amazon Prime and other streaming services, and allows you to connect up to 15 devices to the service simultaneously.
There’s even a 15-day money-back guarantee, so you can try it out and – if you like it – you’ll have a VPN for life for less than the cost of most rivals’ single-year prices.
2. Ivacy two-year VPN subscription
Was: £192 / $238
Now: £36.03 / $47.76 (81% off)
Ivacy’s two-year subscription knocks 81% off the usual monthly price of £8 / US$9.95. This brings it down to just £1.50 / $1.99, although you’ll pay for the entire subscription up front.
The service unblocks Netflix in various regions and supports P2P downloads. Apps are available for a wide variety of devices, and while there isn’t yet WireGuard support, OpenVPN can be used for decent speeds.
3. PureVPN two-year subscription
Was: $262.80 ($10.95 per month)
Now: $47.76 ($1.99 per month) (82% off)
PureVPN is offering 82% off the monthly price. This means the two-year subscription will cost you $47.76 (£35.28).
As with all these deals, you pay for the full subscription up front – not monthly. The monthly cost, for comparison, works out at $1.99/£1.47, which is quite competitive.
But if you’re using a desktop web browser and move your cursor off the page you should see an “insane” 5-year deal appear which works out at just $1.50 per month (£1.11), but of course the total price is higher as it’s for 60 months rather than 24.
Previously we’ve seen PureVPN offer an even better five-year deal, but that’s not available right now. It cost $79.80 (£59.95) and the monthly cost was $1.33/£0.99.
4. Surfshark two-year subscription
Was: $336.70 / £250.90
Now: $65 / £53.45 (82% off + 2 months free)
Surfshark is currently offering 82% off its two-year subscription, plus two months free.
This isn’t the absolute best deal we’ve ever seen from the service, but it’s still a great price for two years’ access to a top VPN service, which is also one of the few which doesn’t put a limit on the number of devices you can use with it at the same time. In fact, it’s almost half the price NordVPN is currently charging.

5. Atlas VPN Premium 3-year subscription
From: Atlas VPN
Was: £291.24 / $395.64
Now: £52.63 / $71.49 (82% off)
Atlas VPN is a relatively new services, but it recently expanded from 18 to 32 locations including Japan, with Netflix support.
It doesn’t tick as many boxes as NordVPN or Surfshark, but if you’re just looking for the lowest monthly price, then this deal should be tempting, especially as Atlas VPN doesn’t put any restrictions on the number of devices you can use with the service at the same time.
Note that this is a three-year subscription, not two, so bear that in mind when comparing the overall price with other deals here.
6. NordVPN two-year subscription
Was: $286.80 / £254.59
Now: $84 / £74.59 (70% off)
This deal, which is part of Nord’s 10th birthday celebrations, increases the usual discount by a few percent to 70%. That’s 70% off the usual monthly price, and applies when you sign up for the two-year plan. You also get a birthday gift: a chance of an extra month, year or two years of subscription time. It isn’t random, though: you’re likely to get a month, and less likely to be given a year or two years.
The UK prices shown here include VAT, which is why the cost initially appears cheaper when you click through to Nord’s website (it’s £3.10 per month, not £2.49). It’s still 70% off, but Nord presents all its prices without tax.
NordVPN is by no means the cheapest VPN service – even with this deal – but if you want the best all-round VPN – it’s top of our round-up of the best VPN services – then this is deal to go for.
7. Hidden24 two-year subscription
Now: £78.96 (£3.29 per month) (44% off)
Hidden24 is a VPN service with a difference: it doesn’t require an app. It will suit anyone wanting a VPN for absolute privacy as it logs precisely nothing.
Your device will need to support a VPN connection natively, but Windows, Android, iOS and macOS all do.
Hidden24 is also a great option if you don’t want to sign up for a long time: it’s around half the cost of its rivals if you just need a VPN for a month.
VPN deals: What to look for
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is designed to keep prying eyes away from your online activity by preventing websites from knowing your true location and, to some extent, your identity. VPNs don’t make you anonymous if your activity reveals who you are, such as when you log into a website.
However, the technology can help protect your identity and sensitive information, particularly on public Wi-Fi networks since they encrypt the connection, and most public Wi-Fi doesn’t require a password, which means there’s no encryption.
A VPN can also allow you to access blocked content, which is the primary reason most people are looking to get a VPN. Obviously, look for a service that has servers in the country you want to access content in (such as Japan and USA) but check, too, that it can unblock the services you want to watch, such as Netflix, iPlayer and others.
VPN subscriptions usually allow you to use the service on more than one device, including a PC, Mac, Android or iPhone as well as streaming devices such as an Amazon Fire TV Stick. This means the cost of the subscription per device is really cheap so long as you take full advantage and use it on as many devices as you’re allowed.
